Atelier Zitron has created another lace yarn with the yarn Finest Royal Alpaca. One of the most valuable yarns was created with Royal Alpaca. It comes from alpacas that are only found in the upper highlands of Bolivia. The climatic conditions of this area have led over time to perfect adaptation to this climate zone and thus to the high-quality and rarely fine fibre of 19 to 20 microns. The animals are gently (not completely probed only proportionally) shorn only every 18 months. The fibre of Fines Royal Alpaca is much lighter than that of domestic new wool from sheep, but it warms much better and is very durable and robust. So it is an ideal yarn for cuddly warm yet light knits of long durability.
